Summer School at Trapdoor has to be one of our favourite - and most exhausting - weeks of the year. An entire show is cast, rehearsed and performed in just 5 days, usually with a cast of over 60 children. A preliminary meeting is held a week ot two before we begin, when auditions are held either …more in person or via self-tape. Scripts are sent out and the company join us at The Royal Hippodrome Theatre for a week. Summer School is a brilliant opportunity for any youngster who is interested in performing to really get to grips with being part of a musical theatre show and follow its creative twists and turns from script to stage. The shows are produced to a very high standard, with full costume, lighting and sound. It is a truly intensive, full-on experience for those involved and it is so lovely seeing the children flourish both on and off stage during the week.
